FIVE DAY TRAINING:

8 AM - 5 PM each day.
A crime can have severe effects on a victim. Weeks, even months after the event, a victim may be still experiencing emotional problems, which can lead to feelings of guilt, frustration, and anger. Casa de la Familia is dedicated to helping those victims, as well as their families, who have suffered an emotional injury as a result of a crime. Our CDLF case management team works closely with victims' advocates and mental health providers to ensure that victims are aware and are able to take advantage of community services.
This class will provide an overview of domestic violence, with presenters including police officers, detectives, social workers, marriage family therapists, psychologists, survivors and more. Subjects includes the history and dynamics of domestic violence, cultural diversity of domestic violence, children of domestic violence, crisis intervention, domestic violence reporting, advocacy and more.
Completion of this training meets the requirements set by California Evidence Code 1037.1 for designation as a Domestic Violence Counselor.
